Fabric Selection Consideration:

• Background: Use a solid or a small non-directional print. Careful to make sure the value will contrast with the moon, cauldron, hat, and scepter.
• Cape:  Choose a range of a dark, medium, and light value fabric; can be 3 different colors or just a few.  Need at least 10 different fabrics.
• Hat + Scepter:
  • The Hat and Scepter will be made from the same fabric.
• Hat, Scepter, Moon, Cauldron
  • If using Light Background, choose dark value
  • If using Dark Background, use a light value
• For a scrappier quilt: Consider using fabric scraps for the cape.  There’s almost no limit to the number of unique fabrics that can be used in the cape. The key is to choose an equal mix of light, medium and dark values.
