Pin Cushion

Are you a PIN or CLIP user? My guess is you’re probably both like me. …but how do you store them all in one place? A pin cushion stores my pins and a jars stores my clips but nothing that holds both in quantities that I need.

Have you looked at your local quilt shop? on Pinterest for ideas? If not, trust me there’s not much out there that stores both and looks cute….because it has to be cute! ☺️

So I came up with the Pin & Clip Posy Pin Cushion.

Backstory: Decades ago my grandmother was gifted a flower pin cushion by a fellow quilter she had met at the fabric cutting counter at her local quilt shop. How sweet is that!? 🥰 It had one petal layer and a tiny little cushion. Inspired by this cushion and many test versions later, I solved my storage need while also using up my ever growing pile of fabric scraps AND it looks so darn cute!

Sidenote: I made about 12 of them for a charity craft fair in the neighborhood and as we were setting up all the other crafty ladies from the other booths were eyeing the posy pin cushions. As soon as the doors officially opened — they had bought me out in the 3 minutes!

Fyi, it can hold over a 140 wonders clips on its 4 layers of petals! (no, I don’t have that many, yet!) 😉 (see my IRL pic at the very end)
